Well, maybe that romance didn't last very long, but Lelouch actually started questioning whether being a murdering terrorist mastermind might be doing society more harm than good. A quick emo-shower later and he's blowing up a tanker full of Japanese allies as bait for the Britannian army. So I guess that part didn't last too long either. I'm just along for the ride at this point. I remember when I was rooting for things to make less sense.
